Who we are
Target Venture Advisory Ltd (“TVA”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. We provide flexible senior legal and commercial counsel to businesses and in-house legal teams.
If you have any questions about this notice or how we use your information, please contact us at hello@tva.vc.
What information we collect
We may collect and process the following personal information:
- Enquiry information: name, email address, company name, job title and any details you include when you contact us through the website or by email.
- Lawyer network applications: name, contact details, professional history, qualifications, practice areas and engagement preferences submitted through the “For Lawyers” form.
- Technical information: IP address, browser type and version, device information and pages visited, processed by our hosting and security providers through strictly necessary cookies and through anonymous, aggregated page-performance and page-view measurement that uses no cookies. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking.
- Correspondence: records of communications with us, including emails and meeting notes.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to enquiries and provide information about our services;
- Assess and process lawyer network applications;
- Manage our relationship with clients, contacts and network members;
- Improve and secure the website; and
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
We rely on legitimate interests to respond to enquiries, manage relationships and keep the website secure and working properly, and on contract where we are providing services. We do not currently rely on consent for any cookies, because only strictly necessary cookies are used. Where we do rely on consent for any future processing, you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us.
How we share your information
We do not sell personal information. We may share it with trusted service providers who help us operate the website and manage enquiries (for example, hosting, email and form-processing services), under appropriate confidentiality and security arrangements. We may also disclose information if required by law or regulation.
International transfers
We generally store and process personal information within the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. If we ever need to transfer information outside these areas, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
How long we keep your information
We keep personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Enquiry data and client engagement records are typically retained for six years after our last contact with you or the end of the relevant engagement, unless we agree a different period or are required to keep records for legal, regulatory or insurance purposes. Lawyer network application data is retained for six years or until you ask us to delete it, whichever is sooner.

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances;
- Object to or restrict our processing of your information;
